Bonjour and Good Day ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

In case you've got your flight or you're already in Malaysia and didn't notice, there are two main airports in KL : Kuala Lumpur International Airport 1 & 2. This page will help you know which one is having your flight ๐Ÿ˜‡

Also before starting, if you're not a member yet, please join the community to receive my own guides and recommendations!

So, KLIA 1 or 2?

KLIA 1 is the main airport and will operate most international companies such as Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways...
While KLIA 2 is more focused on Air Asia and low-cost equivalent companies.

So basically the easiest rule would be : if it's Air Asia it's KLIA 2, if not then it's probably KLIA 1.
But to be 100% sure I'd recommend to type your flight number in Google : Terminal 1 is KLIA 1 and...obviously Terminal 2 is KLIA 2 ๐Ÿ˜„

This one goes to KLIA 1
And this to KLIA 2, AK is Air Asia ๐Ÿ˜„

Transfer between KLIA 1 & KLIA 2

I've never done it so I can't share my experience unfortunately, I don't think that would happen to you either.

There's a transportation line called "KLIA Ekspres" (express ^^) that allows you to transit. Here's some info I got from their website :

  • Trains are every 15 or 30mn depending on peak/off-peak season
  • Fare should be about RM2
  • Duration between KLIA1 and 2 is 5mn
  • First train from KLIA 1 to KLIA 2 is at 05h39am and the last one at 00h39am
  • First train from KLIA 2 to KLIA 1 is at 05h18am and the last one at 00h30am

Here is their website if you want to see for yourself : www.kliaekspres.com
